— pvc and cpvc offer the most economical solutions when chemical resistance, self-extinguishing characteristics and good overall physical properties are required at low temperatures. these materials have a high strength-to-weight ratio and good electrical and thermal insulation. pvc is also self-extinguishing per ul flammability tests. pvc may be used to temperatures of 140°f (60°c). cpvc is ideally suited for self-supporting constructions where temperatures up to 200°f (93°c) are present. cpvc also offers excellent flammability properties (meets ul 94 v-0).
