— acrylic materials (aka "plexiglass") are available in either cast or extruded grades. general purpose acrylic sheets, rods and tubes are commonly used in point of purchase displays, signage, picture frames, windows, shields, aquariums and numerous other applications. cast acrylic is better for machining and polishing, while extruded acrylic offers tighter dimensional tolerances. acrylic has good chemical resistance, and is fda approved for food contact. special designer colors and styles are available, as well as, specialty grades such as; impact-modified, uv resistant, abrasion-resistant, esd, and aircraft grades.
